Located in the southernmost part of Greenwood County, Troy features two significant landmarks in the Long Cane area listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Long Canes Massacre Site and the Long Cane Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Explore the hallowed grounds of the Massacre Site, which includes a gravestone marking the place where 23 Long Cane settlers were killed in a bloody massacre by the Cherokee on February 1, 1760.
